Our next challenge
Today, we are faced with that decision again. We have already adopted digital voice, data and video in most aspects of our business. So what is out next step? The Internet? The Cloud? The need to cable our business network has reduced by the use of wireless connections. Your telephone handset, computer, camera and any other devices are now merged together into a single portal which you access via your computer or smartphone. |

The need to cable our business network has reduced by the use of wireless connections. Your telephone handset, computer, camera and any other devices are now merged together into a single portal which you access via your computer or smartphone.
Your business can now be accessed via the cloud, using systems such as 'Office 365'. We call this 'Cloud Communications'. The need for this "Single Portal" system has accelerated due to the pandemic. Video Conferencing, once a "Nice-to-Have" has suddenly become an essential business tool. Working from home cannot work without video conferencing. Although people are returning to work, it is unlikely that things will return to what we knew as the normal.
Video conferencing with systems such as 'Teams' and 'Zoom' has given us a true "Collaboration" tool where we can share images of each other, documents, videos, Etc, without the need for travel to the office.
Producing a 'PDF' instead of a bound document is saving thousands of trees from being destroyed. Recycled paper once used for printer paper is now being used for packaging, which is in demand even more now because of On-Line shopping, reducing the need for plastic packaging.
To sum up!
Electronic meetings and electronic documents have made a major contribution to the environment never before imagined. Less Travel, Less Paper, Less Plastic, all leading to a massive reduction in our 'Carbon Footprint'.
